The client wanted a single portrait of top executives from three fast food chains, to illustrate a cover article on the high degree of travel required in their jobs. The problem was that two of the executives were in Miami, but the third would be traveling though Miami International Airport en route from Columbia. The only possibility of shooting all three executives at the same time was to set up a shoot at the airport, but heightened security prohibited us from using the concourse or other public areas. And of course, there were extreme time constraints, since the third executive had to catch a plane.
We set up a
white background in a conference room at the International Airport Hotel, assembled all three executives, and got them to loosen up and clown around together.
The resultant
white informal portrait was then silhouetted against a stock image of an airport, and achieved the
results the client wanted, in record time, while also providing the cost savings of shooting all three executives together at the same time.
